Our History

Arts On The Creek started as the first and became the largest arts festival in Johns Creek, Ga. Its mission is simple: Support arts produced in and around Johns Creek, provide the community with a venue to see, watch and enjoy the arts and to have an annual meeting place for city and area residents.

The 2007 Johns Creek International Music & Arts Festival festival was the brainchild of the Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce Arts & Culture Committee, which included founders Ron Cioffi (chair), Edouard Charles, Noelle Simon, Tina Sadler and Lisa Keith. Supported by President Geoff Berlin, the event enjoyed two beautiful days during its run at Johns Creek Christian Church. The first annual festival attracted food, beverages and other attractions of an international flavor to our city.

Beginning in 2008 the festival started new traditions: a new name and logo designed by Cioffi with the painting and design of Anne Marie Noyman and a new schedule running on Labor Day Weekend. After one year at the Johns Creek Methodist Church, AOTC has settled in at Perimeter Church, the most visible location in the city. Under the leadership of Chamber President Doug Russ, a hard-working committee of volunteers and staff work throughout the year to improve and grow the festival. Fifth Third Bank signed on to be our presenting sponsor and has continued with this generous support.

In 2009 the festival's Juried Exhibition Art show was hosted offsite at the Johns Creek Arts Center. We also began a welcomed and productive partnership with the City of Johns Creek.

AOTC co-hosted the 2012 Johns Creek Arts Festival with the City of Johns Creek, coordinated by Splash Festivals. In 2013 we continued to participate in the Johns Creek Arts Festival, hosting the High School Art Exhibition -- with artwork by students of Centennial, Chattahoochee, Johns Creek and Northview High Schools) and a participatory children's art booth.
